CUSTOM DECKS, PERGOLAS, & DECK REPAIRS
|
We have built a lot of decks here in Tallahassee over the years, and we certainly take a lot of pride in building decks for your home that will last many years.
When we custom build your deck, it will be built of the highest quality materials within your budget, and will be built correctly to shed water and not create damage to your adjacent home surfaces.

A well built deck or pergola should be designed in the following manner:
1.) A drawing is made to show the dimensions and relationship to the home.
2.) Footers are poured with anchors built right into the concrete. This method keeps the wood of the deck out of the concrete and prevents the transfer of moisture into the deck posts.
3.) The posts and deck beams are built and are spaced correctly to avoid a "springy" deck surface. All connections are reinforced with metal and anchored where needed according to Florida Building Code.
4.) The deck joists are placed on the beams close enough to add strength under the deck surface boards.
5.) Finally the deck boards are added. Deck boards can be pressure treated 2 x 6, 5 1/4 boards, or composite materials.
6.) Lastly, stairs and rails are built.

DECK REPAIRS and REFURBISHING We can also repair your existing deck.
The deck surface shown in the photo has had the rotted boards removed, and new pressure treated boards replaced. The new boards have been woven-in with staggered joints. This repair method produces a surface that when painted, looks as good as the original construction.
Below, we are repairing the joists of a deck before we place new surface boards down. This step is critical in most repairs, and helps to add life and stability back into and old and weathered deck.
